The positives and the perils of Christmas hiring
It happens every year, that jolly chap wearing red and white comes down the chimney and ushers in a (mostly) fantastic day for you and the family…..
However for you and the company its a time of shortened working weeks, parties, deadlines that seem to come at you even quicker and thoughts about the new year and what it will hold.
Some of the biggest thoughts on your mind are inevitably staffing, retention, expansion and how you are going to hit the ground running in 2019!

Do take your time
I know this sounds counter intuitive for a company that provides staffing solutions to say take your time, however the last thing that you and your business want to be doing is rushing into a decision and shoe-horning someone into the business just because recruiters are telling you you have to act fast! Remember why you are hiring in the first place and understand it’syour decision, do what is right for the business and make sure that hire is theperfect fit.
Don’t engage with multiple recruiters
Ok so this one is super important – find a recruitment solutions provider or consultancy that adds something to your business and partner with them. They should be an extension of you; conveying your passion, enthusiasm, energy and drive for your business. They must add value! So don’t fall into the trap and engage with multiple recruiters to hedge your bets. We believe in partnerships, growth, development and finding the perfect match for your new year needs. We don’t believe in bombarding you with irrelevant CVs before Christmas as the company has a competition to send whoever invoices the most to New York for New Year!
In all the excitement remember your current staff are just as important as any new staff you are looking to bring in. Remember to ensure you retain those excellent workers that helped you have a great 2018 and that have contributed to you being in a position to grow in 2019. Again, it may sound crazy a recruitment company saying this – if you lost staff it would mean we could look to replace them.
